Mobile use
Mobile use is the ability of an AI agent to operate the apps on a phone or tablet for a person, from opening the right app to finishing the task inside it. AGI, Inc. builds mobile-use agents for Android: the AGI app for people and the AGI MCP for developers' agents, with no APIs or integrations needed.
Not to be confused with mobile usage, the measure of how much time people spend on their phones.

What can a mobile-use agent do?
A mobile-use agent finishes tasks inside apps instead of only answering questions about them. Tasks it can handle today include:
Ordering dinner or groceries in the delivery app the person already uses
Booking a ride and sending the arrival time in a messaging app
Filling out a form in an app that has no API
Finding a notification the person dismissed too fast
Finding the playlist a friend sent in Messages and playing it on Spotify
One request can span several apps, and the agent moves between them on its own.
How is mobile use different from computer use?
Computer use is the same idea on a laptop or desktop, where the agent works in desktop apps and websites. Mobile use covers phones and tablets, where most apps have no public API and many tasks exist only inside an app. Browser use is narrower: the agent works only inside a web browser.

Typical device | Android phone | Laptop or desktop | Any computer with a browser |
Example task | Book a ride, then text the arrival time | Fill in a spreadsheet from a PDF | Compare prices across shopping sites |

How is mobile use measured?
The standard public test is AndroidWorld, a benchmark built by Google researchers and published at ICLR 2025. It runs 116 tasks in 20 real Android apps and inspects the device at the end of each task to check the result. People complete about 80% of the tasks. AGI-0 completed all 116, a 100% score listed on the official AndroidWorld leaderboard.
Is it safe to let an agent use your phone?
The AGI app acts only on tasks the user starts, and there is always a confirmation step before anything financial goes through. Touching the screen pauses it right away. The phone use entry covers the controls in more detail.
Where can you try mobile use?
People can install the AGI app on an Android phone and ask for a task by voice or text. It has a 4.9-star rating and over 10,000 downloads on Google Play. Developers can connect the AGI MCP to an MCP client such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, and their agent can then use any app on a connected Android phone. Setup takes about a minute at platform.agi.tech.
FAQ
Which apps does a mobile-use agent work with?
Any app installed on the phone that a person can use. AGI's agent works in apps that have no API and no integration, because it uses each app the way a person does.
Is mobile use the same as phone use?
They overlap. Mobile use is the broader term for agents that operate phones and tablets. Phone use usually means an agent working on one specific phone, often the person's own, where their apps and accounts are already signed in.
Does a mobile-use agent need an API for each app?
No. An API covers only what the app maker chose to expose. A mobile-use agent works in the app's own interface, so it can finish tasks in apps that have no API.
Does the agent ask before it pays for something?
Yes. The AGI app always asks for confirmation before anything financial goes through, and it acts only on tasks the user starts.
How do I start using mobile use?
Install the AGI app from Google Play on an Android phone and allow its accessibility service when the app asks. Developers can connect the AGI MCP to their MCP client in about a minute at platform.agi.tech.
